As I mentioned in my last post, Culver City is a pretty urban community, a small city surrounded by the megalopolis of Los Angeles. A winding path leads up from either Venice or Jefferson boulevards below to a series of lovely viewing spots atop this steep hill.

A small, modern-looking Nature Center features exhibits that tell the story of this once drilled and exploited land which has now become a symbol of conservation and hope. Jonathan has started a snail collection with the many shells we’ve found up on this pinnacle.
